HARPER'S FELLOW, SATURDAY, 1:45 - 3:15, RIVERFRONT STAGE After being told to 'turn it down' at a Nashville club, Harper's Fellow wants to make it abundantly clear that despite the acoustic guitar, honest lyricism and the occasional ballad, they are here to breathe renewed life and energy into a genre that had seemingly lost its edge. Following the album release, the band hit the road, highlights included great shows in Delaware, Washington DC, Asheville, Louisville and Nashville. Harper's Fellow has played with The Weeks, Griffin House (Nashville) and Kings X. WWW.AFTERTHEREIGN.COM MAGGIE ROSE, SATURDAY, 7:15 - 8:45, RIVERFRONT STAGE Cool and confident, yet warm and approachable with a laugh that's as melodic as the songs she sings. Her journey from Potomac, Maryland landed her in Nashville by way of storied record executive Tommy Mottola (Celine Dion, Mariah Carey). "Country by choice. The fact that I gravitated toward country when there were so many other options shows that's where I belong." Why? The singer songwriter smiles and simply says, "You can hear the story." It's that mindset and a healthy dose of diligence that kept Maggie in Nashville since the age of 19. Starry-eyed and a bit naïve, her first run at commercial success positioned her as a voice to be heard and gave her a foothold in Music City, with iconic country music producers Blake Chancey and James Stroud at the helm. Maggie Rose has recently been honored by The National Capital Chesapeake Bay Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS), with a local 2013 Emmy Award nomination for the 56th Emmy Awards. The singer co-wrote and performed "Get Ya Game On" for Comcast SportsNet as the theme of their coverage of the National Football League's Washington Redskins throughout the 2013 season. Due to the success of the "Get Ya Game On" promo, Rose is gearing up to repackage the promo for Comcast SportsNet for the 2014 NFL season. Her local 2013 Emmy Award nomination follows the release of Maggie's latest hit, "Looking Back Now" which is the third single from her acclaimed debut album, CUT TO IMPRESS. The project landed on Roughstock.com and CountryMusicRocks Best Albums of 2013, and was listed as one of only four country albums to make Amazon.com's Best Music of 2013. Produced by Blake Chancey, James Stroud and Stephony Smith, the album features the breakthrough top 30 hits "I Ain't Your Mama" and "Better" which stayed on the country music charts for over 30 weeks. The project highlights Maggie's songwriting prowess on nearly half of the tracks. The singer recently opened for Gary Allan and Sheryl Crow on the FREE & EASY Tour and continues to get air-play on country music stations nationally and internationally. WWW.MAGGGIEROSE.COM
